Star Memories - Poem

Sometimes when larger, more exciting concepts for my poems don't materialize, or more accurately, don't feel ready yet, I find that it is the simple things, the simple ideas, that get things moving. It is those simple concepts, upon which we build upon, that will allow us to eventually reach higher.

So, yes, soon, the wheels and cogs meant for the bigger ideas will begin turning and developing fully, the current ideas in the "under construction" category, but until then, take a step back, with me, as I invite you to read this poem, about a grown man who is sitting outside on a clear, starry night, reminding himself of childhood memories, about the simpler times of life.

Join him, for a brief few seconds, and allow yourself to remember your own memories of a simpler time. Don't be afraid. Take that journey. Relax.Unwind. Turn the clock back and embrace the warmth of a lost, or forgotten treasured time.

As the music plays, allow yourself to feel. Feel it. Treasure it. Embrace it.

Live it, albeit in your mind.

I hope you found happiness in this little experience.

I wish you a great week,

Best of wishes,

Yitzy Schweitzer

Star Memories - Poem

Staring into the night,
Into the stories told by the stars,
Being transported to simpler times,
A place that seems bygone, yet is not so far.

Remembering the nights, when we would sit together,
Just as I do tonight, despite the gaps in years,
Remembering the soft sun of summers fun,
The bright blue skies vividly reappears.

There is so much I remember,
Sitting here under the stars, tonight,
Like how you would hold me, when I was scared,
Whenever the terrors would give me a fright.

Many more things, I could write about,
But yet, I wonder if I need to,
Some memories are better,
Kept between me and you.

Just wanted to reminisce,
About those times that have rolled on,
Just wanted to tell you a little bit,
About how the stars of the night sky, on a special unique journey, invited me along
