Child of Nature - Poem

Earlier this week, I was sitting in a art class, trying my best to involve myself in the lesson trying to draw and paint a little bit. As I did so, a concept came into my head, a prompt: "Child of the Flowers." The baseline stayed with me throughout the rest of the afternoon and later in the early evening hours I sat down to put the concept into words.

The first three stanzas in this poem follows a person going through the different stages of life in terms being a child, a young adult and an elderly man. Throughout each stanza nature will be different, differently viewed, differently described, yet always with a serene charm, providing comfort and hope. The ending stanza will try and bring everything together, concluding the narrative with a gentle reminder to hear the calling of natures' voice, hear its song, embrace its magic.

I hope you enjoy the poem.

All the best,

Child of Nature - Poem

Whispering winds tap me on the shoulder,
The flowers wave as I pass,
The leaves rustle, in breeze, an applause,
A child of nature, this young time won't last.

Wood on the tress, so powerful and strong,
Sunsets and its rise paint rainbows across the sky,
The building around me reflects the magic,
A young man in nature, looking on with sensitivity in his eyes.

The days are filled with glorious song,
The nights harmonize in colour and peace,
Time is limited so, yet the sun still feels warm,
A man of old age in nature, still beautiful to me.

Life is a trail of beautiful, simple wonders,
A forest, valley, or a simple walk in the street,
Wherever you go, something is always waiting,
It's nature, calling you, it's voice, soft and sweet.
