Still Here - Poem

Earlier this week, I sat down to write a poem. I had a underlying concept to work with, that being, that throughout the changes of seasons and time, we have remained, remained Hashem's children, His most prized and loved, despite the chaos of the world around us and despite our mistakes, wrongdoings and time when we've stumbled.

Despite all that, we are still here. He still loves us. We are His. Forever.

I conveyed this message as best I could within four stanzas, four stanzas of magic, love and peace. I hope you enjoy the read.

Still Here - Poem

The leaves have fallen, changed colours, grown back,
The sky has changed over a thousand and more times,
Minutes have ticked by, moments have come and gone,
Yet I am still here.

Still Your child, despite my mistakes,
Still Your loved one, despite falling once again,
You've picked me up, lead me towards peace,
My father, my king, but also, my friend.

So long have we tried to bring redemption, yet it hasn't come,
We try still, a deed and one more,
Trying to do what's right, what's good, what's best,
Trying to add another note to life musical score.

Even with all the chaos, together with us, you remain,
A father and his children, walking through life,
G-ds world is a gift, our gift to Him is our love,
Still here, we are, despite the pain, despite the strife.
