Torah - the Gift You Learn and Live - Poem

I sometimes find myself in desperate need for a poem and more often then not, G-d sends me an idea on the spot and within minutes the piece is ready to be posted and shared. Sometimes, however, even though I am desperate for a good, effective concept, or even sometimes when I have said concept, it just doesn't seem to gel together. The pieces don't seem to connect and the poem just doesn't feel right.

So in these situations, I normally look through my archive, to see, if perhaps one poem I wrote recently or some other time, could connect with me and ignite that fire. This weeks' piece is just that one.

I was struggling to create a poem I was happy with, but I knew that there were a couple of completed, "ready-and-waiting" pieces that would be able to use. I had written this one about a couple of weeks back and I was hoping to share whenever the time felt right. Well after all the waiting around and creative blockades of this week, I felt it was time to give this poem its flowers.

But this poem is not about flowers. It's about the Torah. Originally titled "Just a Poem About the Torah" because I could not think of a better title to put in after originally writing it, now I have decided to change it to "Torah - the Gift You Learn and Live". I think this title is a better reflection on the whole piece overall but let me know what you think after reading it! :)

Anyway, I am going to paste the poem below now and then I will carry on with my day!

Okay. Here we go! Enjoy your reading!

All the best,

Torah - the Gift You Learn and Live - Poem

By the word of He Who is On High,
By His voice, so it came to be.
G-d spoke the words of the scroll,
The world was born and fashioned in this way, for you and me.

We each have a gift,
Individual blessings to share with our fellow friend,
But the greatest gift, a life source like no other,
Torah is always with us, giving us joy, comfort, and happiness to no end.

When we learn by ourselves,
Or share in the holiness of its word with our friends and family,
Life becomes bright, colourful, each moment worth so much,
For Torah is the key, our hearts are the door, to serenity, to tranquility.

We take the Torah, open our hearts,
Let its word become a part of who we are,
We unlock the blessings of the eternal, we achieve a level so great,
Our learning shines for all time, same as the stars.

So, learn it, live it, feel it,
Even if for a moment, just one verse, one chapter, one lesson,
I hope it will be a blessing to you,
As it has been for the Jewish Nation for all generations.
