Visions of Peace: In Tribute to the victims of Bondi Beach - Poem

No real introduction is needed. I guess all I want to say is that this poem came from the kindness of Hashem. I wanted to write something, preferably, not about the horrific attack which occurred this week in Australia, however, when thinking about a concept for this weeks' poem, Hashem placed these words in my mind.

Visions of Peace.

As I started writing I felt something. Something telling me to continue. As I wrote, I realised that even though I may not have wanted to write a poem about the attack, Hashem gave me the words and idea to write about it either way. I kept writing, trying to remind myself two things.

One, this poem talks about redemption in some way, and we all know that Mashiach is coming and he will be here SOON.

Two, maybe even though I did not want to write about the attack, maybe for this week, this was the poem I needed to write. I wrote it to completion, only because He wanted it to be so. Maybe He was telling me, "this is what you need to write, just begin with these words and this line. I'll help you finish writing it like I always do".

Either way, enough of the introduction, I hope you enjoy the poem.

Have a wonderful rest of Chanukah

All the best,

Visions of Peace: In Tribute to the victims of Bondi Beach - Poem

From the ashes of struggles,
From the pieces of pain,
We always rise up,
Again and again.
They may hate us,
But we respond with love,
As we wait for true freedom,
To descend from above.

While other see war and hate,
See only reasons to fight,
The good people in our vicinities,
Will always see light.
While other see visions of pain,
Dream of horror and sadness,
We dream about visions of peace,
A world rid of unholy madness.

While people gathered by the light,
Two monster wished for darkness,
Souls fell, lives were shattered,
By an act born of heartlessness.
But the good people stood and stand with you,
Our voice will no longer be soft and quiet,
Like a lion roaring to secure his kingdom,
We will be that noise, we will spread hope, light, and warm the fire.

While others only think of sorrow,
We believe in the word called calm,
While others seek to cause grief,
We seek to protect from harm,
Others dream and create,
These visions of despair,
But we believe in the vision of peace,
We believe in light, we believe in Hashem.

We know He is going to redeem us soon,
But soon can no longer be tomorrow or any other day,
Soon must be this very moment, soon must become now,
Soon must be no longer, soon must become - today!
