Visions of Peace: In Tribute to the victims of Bondi Beach - Poem
Visions of Peace.
Either way, enough of the introduction, I hope you enjoy the poem.
Yitzy Schweitzer
From the ashes of struggles,
From the pieces of pain,
We always rise up,
Again and again.
They may hate us,
But we respond with love,
As we wait for true freedom,
To descend from above.
While other see war and hate,
See only reasons to fight,
The good people in our vicinities,
Will always see light.
While other see visions of pain,
Dream of horror and sadness,
We dream about visions of peace,
A world rid of unholy madness.
While people gathered by the light,
Two monster wished for darkness,
Souls fell, lives were shattered,
By an act born of heartlessness.
But the good people stood and stand with you,
Our voice will no longer be soft and quiet,
Like a lion roaring to secure his kingdom,
We will be that noise, we will spread hope, light, and warm the fire.
While others only think of sorrow,
We believe in the word called calm,
While others seek to cause grief,
We seek to protect from harm,
Others dream and create,
These visions of despair,
But we believe in the vision of peace,
We believe in light, we believe in Hashem.
We know He is going to redeem us soon,
But soon can no longer be tomorrow or any other day,
Soon must be this very moment, soon must become now,
Soon must be no longer, soon must become - today!
