Life is a Journey - Subscriber Poetry Inspiration 2025-26 Poem 4
Earlier this week, during a quick discussion with a very dear friend of mine, I asked him if he had any new concepts and ideas that he could possibly share as a jumping-off point for a new poem and for yet another addition to the "Subscriber Poetry Inspiration" segment. A couple of hours later, he sent me a beautiful concept, that being an idea said over in Hebrew by the noted lecturer and writer, Reb Elimelech Biderman שליט"א, which reads in English as follows:
"The gaon Reb Elimelech Biderman says in the name of the Ba'al Shem Tov,
"The gaon Reb Elimelech Biderman says in the name of the Ba'al Shem Tov,
"The verse says in Parshas Masei, 'the Bnei Yisroel traveled according to the word of Hashem'.
Every person travels through their life 42 travels just as Bnei Yisroel traveled throughout 42 different places in the dessert. So too, every person will go through 42 different periods of life, some from a physical and some from a spiritual perspective and a person should strengthen themselves to remember, during the good times and bad times that everything is, just as the verse says, 'we travel according to Hashem'.
"One should have no questions or doubts about this and one achieves this level of thinking about how all his journeys in life is him traveling in the ways of Hashem with complete faith and joy.
The thought ended as follows
"In every situations you find yourself in life you must remember that everything that is happening is being led according to Hashem's plan, which is fixed for us and everything that happens is for our ultimate good"
After some time thinking about this beautiful idea, I started to connect with it more and decided to give the poem a shot. Below, you'll find what it is I came up with, which I hope you enjoy.

Each person travels on his own path,
Each person follows his own road,
Hashem guides him throughout every second,
Keeps him safe wherever he goes.
Through the storms and sunshine, bright skies and darkness,
Hashem is always there,
Guiding him from up above,
With the utmost level of love and care.
Every journey is different,
Each trek is full of surprises,
But through the good times and the bad,
We must recognize, it is He who designed this,
Just as He led me to this point,
Further on, He will do the same,
But I must believe in Him, with all my heart,
Trying my best is the name of the game.
No matter where I may go,
Hashem, I know your by my side,
Each prayer, each song,
I know You here it, from On High,
When times are good,
When I sing to you,
When I need strength
I beg of you to pull me through,
No matter where I am on this road,
I still cleave to you.

When foes come to hurt me,
When they come to trap me and keep me down,
I try my best to not lose hope
To give in to despair, to give light to a frown.
Because I know, these evildoers, will surely fail soon
Soon they will be but a distant thought, a dream,
Hashem is protecting me, orchestrating every moment,
Soon, they will fall, soon I'll be free,

When leaves sway and wave in calm winds,
I will dance on my road, giving praise to His great name,
For these beautiful wonders, one of His many gifts.

Because, as sure as I know, He is One and Only One,
I know and understand, that I am loved in His eyes.
