Wings of Freedom - Poem

This weeks poem, titled "Wings of Freedom", was written as an expression of hope to the arrival of Mashiach, an event we wait for every day and one that we believe and know will happen very soon.

 

As you can probably guess from the title, this poem focuses on the eagle that Hashem promises will come and take us home, when the redemption's time has come. We will climb aboard onto the wings of this eagle and travel as one to our forever home.  

the main structure of the piece was - at the beginning - to describe the moments before the eagle would land to take us home to Yerushalayim - and than, to end off - I wanted to describe the moments just before we would land IN Yerushalayim and how beautiful and exciting that would be.

Wings of Freedom - Poem

Evening colours the sky,
Songs softly in the air,
Soft chatters of children,
The birds quiet melody is heard.

Moments treasured, a future is coming,
Beyond all parameters and limitations,
A future beyond dreams will enter soon,
The world stands quiet, with awe we wait for the revelation.

The silence is soon pierced,
By a blast, sounding the melody of freedom,
A eagle gracefully lands before us,
Ready to ascend to the land we believe in.

We climb aboard on the wings of freedom,
Understanding that time has forever changed,
We have achieved our mission, redemption is now,
Soon, our land will be our true forever home once again.
