Daring to Dream - Poem

Around two months ago, I wrote the following poem. Titled "Daring to Dream", it follows one young man as he dares to imagine, to hope, to pray and to wonder, for better times under the cover, the shadow and the calm of a still night.

He represents his desires and hopes by writing them out in four simple stanzas. Each stanza asks for something similar than the previous one, starting from the first, where he asks for a future with no arguments and a future that is one of peace. He than moves to the second and third stanzas, asking for the world to be rid of war, weaponry and hatred, before ending at the final stanza, where he asks to feel an embrace, the embrace of the Al-mighty, which ties the whole piece together and ends it on a beautiful, heartfelt note.

I am so excited and proud to share the poem with you after leaving it off in the archives or to the side since completing it.

I hope you enjoy it!

Have a wonderful week ahead,

Your Friend,

Daring to Dream - Poem
Daring to dream, in the safety of the dark,
Holding tight to a future, I could only hope for,
A future of peace, one just of serene stillness,
When the arguments matter, no more.

Daring to wonder, under the covers of shadows and night,
Asking of Above, if the dreams could become true,
A world without animosity, hatred wiped away,
A heart of gold, allowing me to feel your pain, with you.

Daring to seek beyond, under the whispers of sleepless hours,
Painting pictures of the moments I wish to witness,
When the time cometh, will it be too much to ask,
To just see the world, for all time, lay down its weapons?

Daring to hope, under the comfort of prayer and silent smiles,
For the embrace I lost, I miss, those I never felt before,
Can’t I go back, or move forward quick enough,
So I can feel your warmth, your arm on my shoulders, once more?
