I Am Hashem, Your Healer - Subscriber Poetry Inspiration 2025-26 Poem 8

At the beginning of this month, sometimes around Rosh Chodesh, I had a rather conversation with a very dear friend of mine, who is also one of the subscribers to this blog. The discussion centered around the topic of the Hebrew spelling of the name of the new Jewish month, Iyaar which in Hebrew is spelled אייר, Alef, Yud, Yud, Reish.

I had heard that the word in Hebrew stood for something. Some sort of acronym. I knew as well that the two Yud (יי) was meant to represent Hashem's name. I asked my friend what the Aleph and Reish at the beginning and end of the word stood for and he told me it stood for אני (Ani) and רםאך (Rofecha) which when put all together is:
 אני יי רפאך
(Ani Hashem Rofecha). That phrase translates to,
"I am Hashem, Your Healer".

Inspired by that, as well as a interesting Chidush I came up with, I remarked to my friend that perhaps the "Subscriber Poetry Inspiration" piece for this month would be a poem inspired by this conversation. After some days working, I finally developed and wrote a full poem, one that I am proud and honored to share with all of you.

Split into two halves, one half deals with how Hashem will "heal us" from the pain of our haters and enemies and the other half deals with being healed from illness and disease. I hope you enjoy the read.

All the best to you, dear friend,

I am Hashem, Your Healer - Subscriber Poetry Inspiration 2025-26 Poem 8

With the hatred only getting stronger,
Sometimes it’s hard to understand,
What is the reason for this occurrence,
What is His masterplan?
Rising around us like a ferocious tide,
Threatening to take us down to a bitter end,
We hope, we pray, we plead, we cry,
Have mercy upon us, Hashem.

With illnesses only continuously looming,
Like a vengeful spirit at our door,
One moment pure bliss and joy,
The next, life is different and we are so unsure,
So many taken by the sword of disease,
Yet it still visits us, leaving us bereft and shaken,
How long can we continue to go on like this,
Where is our healing, our promise of salvation?

But, in the blink of an eye, suddenly it all changes,
Miraculously, something shifts and the world can’t explain it,
No scientific reason or equation can explain to them what they’ve just seen,
There is only One who could have done so, Our Father, Hashem, Al-mighty.
Destroying the embers of hatred, until the fire burns out completely,
Healing us, from the gravest prognosis, almost like a medical mystery,
These aren’t just some coincidence, for we know what happened here,
Hashem says, “I am your healer”, this time it is so real and clear.

Hashem has promised the redemption,
A time of true worldly understanding,
When His name and His nation will be recognised,
Every second we get closer to its unfolding,
On that day, the healer of hearts and illness,
Will destroy all hatred and disease,
A shift will occur, almost magical,
Our minds and hearts will be at ease.

Every tear we shed, every prayer we whisper,
Only brings forth this beautiful time,
When the praises of Hashem will be sung in unison,
With the ultimate rhythm and rhyme.
Healed from our illnesses,
while the world sees the truth they ignored,
What was hard to recognise becomes so awesomely clear,
Like we’ve never seen it before.
